National Sunglasses Day

Posted by Jim Connolly on 25th Jun 2015

As I am sure every dedicated fan of sunglasses already knows, Saturday is National Sunglasses Day

Why have a National Sunglasses Day?

If you thought that it was just a marketing gimmick, devised by sunglasses manufacturers, you wouldn’t be entirely right. It's more than that. Allow me to explain.

Brands and health professionals use this day every year, to spread the word about the importance of protecting your eyes from the sun’s damaging rays. They use National Sunglasses Day to attract the media’s attention, to help spread the word that sunglasses are far more than a fashion statement.

Sunglasses are our passion

As long time readers will know, we regularly share information on eye protection and why it's important to block UVA and UVB rays from your eyes, by wearing the correct type of sunglasses. We also spread the word about advances in sunglasses technology and share interesting sunglasses-related stories from all over the world. Including some truly wacky ones!

Why? Because here at CTS Wholesale Sunglasses, every day is sunglasses day. It’s our passion. And it’s our passion 365 days a year, every year. Just ask our customers!

We’re also proud that America has led the way with the modern sunglasses industry. Many people don’t know that it was Hollywood that transformed sunglasses into an international phenomenon. This happened when the very first movie stars used tinted glasses to shield their eyes from the bright lights used on movie sets. Photos of the movie stars wearing their sunglasses went around the world and fans adopted the look.

Whoever you are and wherever you are, on behalf of the whole CTS Wholesale Sunglasses team: Happy Sunglasses Day!

And finally folks!

Don't forget, CTS Wholesale Sunglasses is here 365 days a year, to help retailers provide high quality products to their customers. If you're a retailer and you would like to know more, simply click here.
